About Nathan Willoughby
Nathan holds a Combined Bachelor of Laws & Arts and Graduate Diploma of Legal Practice from The University of Newcastle.
Nathan commenced practising as a solicitor in Newcastle in December 2013 and worked in the plaintiff personal injury jurisdiction until being called to the Bar in 2019. In his work as a solicitor, Nathan gained experience in claims for worker’s compensation; work injury damages; civil liability damages; motor accident compensation/damages; total and permanent disablement; and income protection.
Since being called to the Bar, Nathan has maintained a practice in personal injury law whilst incorporating an ever-expanding practice in family law and appellate family law.
Nathan has experience at the Bar in a range of litigation matters including:
- All manner of family law applications including appeals and complex first instance property and parenting hearings;
- Conciliation/Arbitration Hearings before the Personal Injury Commission;
- Work injury damages claims;
- Motor vehicle accident claims;
- Civil Liability Act claims.
Due to his experience in personal injury law, Nathan has a particular expertise in any family law property matters with a compensation claims element.
Outside of law, Nathan has an interest in all things sport and in spending time with his family.
